EMBODIED FLOW SCHOLARSHIPS

Embodied Flow exists as a school to bring to all who practice yoga greater possibilities for movement and resource within our collective body. Our somatic approach to embodiment is an inclusive model open to all. Embodied Flow is invested in increasing representation in the wellness space by assisting those who practice yoga but often don’t see their identities represented by those who teach it. Recognizing that students of diversity have been marginalized within the yoga community, Embodied Flow would like to contribute to the representation of the widest spectrum of humanity within the path of yoga, regardless of race, gender orientation, or economics.

For these reasons, we have created a Scholarship Program for underrepresented individuals to offer an opportunity not just to become certified yoga teachers, but also to work toward the possibility of applying their knowledge to create inclusive and equitable spaces for yoga, service, and healing in their local communities.

Specifically, we seek to support applicants who embody these key elements:

DIVERSITY AND EQUITY

We provide an accelerated path to yoga teacher training for historically underrepresented minorities in the yoga space in order to create a more equitable and inclusive yoga culture.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

We support individuals with established local engagement and a vision to create new spaces to practice yoga in their communities.

Who Can Apply?

We support individuals whose financial and life circumstances mean they might otherwise never have the opportunity to complete yoga teacher training. Before you apply for a scholarship, please make sure that you meet these criteria:

Queer and Trans community

We wish to provide scholarships to those members of the LBGTQ+ community who wish to give back to their communities through the practice of yoga, somatics, and wellbeing.

Economic Need

We are pleased to accept applications from applicants facing economic hardship (e.g. reduced or unemployment, unpaid care for a loved one, single-parent responsibilities, etc).

BIPOC

While we wish we could provide scholarships to all deserving and underrepresented applicants, we preference applications if you belong to a non-white ethnicity.

Community Engagement

We specifically seek to fund applicants who plan to use their teacher training to create new spaces to practice yoga in their local community.
